CIL Geoge Necula's superb infrastructure for C program analysis and transformation.

WinAVR Provides the complete GCC development software for the Atmel AVR processors, compiled and ready to run on Windows. I used this package to develop the software for the Jen SX1000.

lcc LCC is a free retargetable ANSI C compiler. It is fully described in the book "A Retargetable C Compiler: Design and Implementation" by Fraser and Hanson.

ASXXXX & ASLINK The ASXXXX cross assemblers and ASLINK linker provide a nice public-domain cross-development system.

They provide support for a wide range of processors (including the 6800 family, 8051, 8085, Z80, H8/3xx, and 6502) and the great advantages of relocation - independent module development, library control, etc.
