Walsh Functions - Synthesis and Analysis

next >>

I have written a couple of Tcl applets which can be used to analyse and create waveforms using 16 Walsh functions. To use it you will need a Tcl/Tk interpreter, freely available from ActiveState.

There is/was a browser plugin for Tclets, however it seems that plugins are no longer supported in browsers, so while this page does use the embed tag to add the apps to this page it is highly likely your browser won't do anything with it. *shrug*

Walsh Synthesis

Usage notes:
  • The sliders act like a mixer, going from -1 to +1.
  • The zero-all button resets all coefficients to 0.
  • The three preset buttons set the coefficients to generate the appropriate waveform.
  • Adjust scale to suit.
  • The smooth option plots with smoothed curves to give a more analogue view of the waveform.

Walsh Analysis

Usage notes:
  • The sliders set the values of the sixteen sample points, from -1 to +1.
  • The zero-all button resets all sample points to 0.
  • The three preset buttons set the sample points to generate the appropriate waveform.
  • Adjust scale to suit.
