A new year... a new synth adventure!! I'm pleased to say that my new venture
in synth design is now online. The aim is to give a more formal structure to
my ideas, with a wider range of parts, and also ready-made modules. The first of CESYG's
fruits is now available: 3.5mm jack board. I've also started a
blog to accompany this
new project. Early days, but more to come!!

The first daughter card for the 3-channel mixer is now released.
The 3-channel
voltage controlled mute adds three channels of voltage-controlled mute
to each of the mixer input channels. Each mute circuit has a "mute" LED, CV input
with a 1.5V threshold suitable for most gate signals, and supports both momentary push buttons
and standard SPDT toggle switch.

I decided to upgrade my rather basic Phonic "toy" mixer with something a bit
more, well, interesting...

Electronics engineers can get a bit fetishy about test equipment. I've added a page
with some of my thoughts on the matter.

Another great event! Photos coming soon....

Oscar Salas and myself have been investigating a rather unfortunate failure mode of the SSM2164 quad VCA.
But after some experimenting involving the sacrifice of some chips we have come up with a neat solution.

On 23rd April 2009 I gave a talk at Anglia Ruskin University about my
modifications to the Jen SX1000. You can now
download the slides (PDF, 1.7MB).

After many years of neglect I have finally started my restoration and re-engineering project of this
Italian analogue polysynth.
